Our teachers started the school year with a little extra love! Thanks to your PTA memberships, every teacher received a fun back-to-school gift including a new water bottle, an Amazon gift card, and a brand-new 2026-2027 SIES T-shirt. We also welcomed them back with a delicious lunch from Verde during their first week. Thank you for supporting the teachers who make SIES so special!

The PTA was also proud to host our annual Cheers & Tears Breakfast on the first day of school. Whether families were cheering for an exciting new beginning or shedding a few tears as they said goodbye, it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the start of another great year at SIES.

Our annual Kindergarten Bingo Night was held over two evenings, creating smaller, more relaxed gatherings for families connect. Our youngest Skimmers had a wonderful time making new friends and spending time with teachers and administrators. Students also won exciting prizes, including lunch with Principal King or Ms. Russell, a behind-the-scenes VIP experience with Wave News, feeding the fish with our science teachers, and serving as Security Officer Poole’s assistant! The PTA was happy to provide pizza to make dinner easy for everyone. A special thank-you to all the teachers and volunteers who helped make both evenings so memorable!

Whether you have five minutes, a special skill to share, or simply want to learn more about what the PTA does, there’s a place for you! Expressing interest never commits you to volunteering. If you’re considering getting more involved, here are a few easy steps to get started:

2. Browse Volunteer Opportunities
   • Log into Membership Toolkit → click Volunteer → browse the list and select anything that interests you (Note: Signing up only shows you’re interested in learning more — it doesn’t commit you to volunteering!)
3. Questions or Want to Do More?
   • Email Stefana Simmons (VP, Membership) at stefanasimmons@gmail.com if you haven’t heard back about an opportunity or if you’re curious about serving on the PTA Board.

Our next PTA Board Meeting is Tuesday, September 15th at 7:30 AM in the library. All active PTA members are welcome to attend. We would love to see you!
